Hailing from Gippsland, Victoria – Earthbound have been turning heads in Australia’s heavy music scene. Comprising vocalist Tom Armstrong, bassist David Lawson and guitarists Jake Kershaw and Daniel Drowley, the band seamlessly meshes technical prowess with a raw, emotive narrative.

The band emerged with a new sound in 2019, marking a fresh chapter in their musical journey with the release of the single “Continuum.” Driven by a fast-paced groove and potent lyrics exploring themes of time, impermanence, and courage – inspired by the video game “Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask” – Earthbound quickly carved out a distinct space for themselves within the genre.

Their debut EP, “Evergreen,” released in 2020 and quickly established them as a rising star in the Australian Metalcore scene. This 4-track EP stands as a homage to the band’s favourite video games, transposing memories of deep, transcending connections associated with these games into music. Combining relentless guitar work, dynamic vocals, and lush soundscapes, the “Evergreen” paints a vivid picture of Earthbound’s commitment to expanding the horizons of Metalcore. Its thematic explorations of personal growth and resilience resonated globally, with praise coming internationally.

In 2022, Earthbound released the single “Phantom,” one of their darkest and heaviest tracks to date. Inspired by the video games “Ghost of Tsushima” and “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice”, the song’s lyrics grapple with feelings of depression, the disorientation of a rapidly changing world, and a sense of lost belonging. “Phantom” guides listeners from the brooding intro guitar lead into the spoken delivery of the first lyric line, before propelling them into a cacophony of heavy riffs designed to lose oneself in.

Known for their electrifying live performances, Earthbound’s reputation is spreading fast. Their raw onstage energy, coupled with impeccable musicianship, ensures an immersive, unforgettable experience that leaves audiences both exhilarated and craving more.
